Laurens Wedding Day Makeup & Hair- Moby Dicks Whale Beach

Posted on

My last wedding for 2016 and what a way to finish! Lauren chose to start the morning preparations at an air bnb beach house in Palm Beach nice and close to her venue at Moby Dicks. Lauren was such a beautiful person and had such a great energy- it was easy to make her look even more amazing than she looked fresh faced at 9:30am.

Bridesmaids were Lauren’s two sisters and I also got to glam up her Mother and also new Mother-in-law to be! As Lauren opted for a beach- side wedding she wanted to keep the makeup quite bronzed and dewy looking, Most of the focus was concentrated on the eyes, using a bronzed smokey palette we created a look that brought out her green eyes but wasn’t too over-powering. Individual lashes in short flares by Ardell were applies over the centre 3rd of her lash-line, Hair was set in large hot rollers and then brushed through and sprayed for an effortless beach look.

Laurens sisters rarely wear makeup so wanted something a little more subdued and barely there.  I stuck with the nude tones on the eyes and applied very light foundation through the t-zone and blended out.

Hair was tonged and pinned loosely to create a textured low up-style that wasn’t too formal or over-done.

Laurens dress was from Made with Love and Bridesmaids were from Zimmermann (such a great choice)! Photographer on the day was Ben Wyeth and as you can see by the photos his work is amazing. I have worked with Ben now on a number of weddings and he is just so lovely to be around makes you look even better in photos!

Yet another stunning, happy Bride! Thank you to all my beautiful clients for an amazing year of love and weddings!  Greer xxx

Komals wedding makeup and hair, Novotel Norwest

Posted on

I have had a lot of requests from clients at the moment to showcase some of my Indian weddings, Here is one from earlier in the year from Komals wedding day. I had a ball making up all her gorgeous bridemaids, even though it was a very early start (3:30am) everyone was in good spirits and excited to be “glammed up” for the day.

This is me below with some of the girls! Total stunners!!

Preparations were held at the Novotel Norwest Sydney

Makeup was kept more bronzed and and highlighted on the brow bone and lid to make the eyes “POP”. Eyeliner was quite thick and winged to create a little drama and depth, I used Tarte Clay Paint liner- its made from amazonian clay and goes on smooth without dragging on the lid, I like how it comes in a little squeezy tube until many others in pot form which tends to dry out, Also so long lasting!

Lashes was a mix of Ardell wispies (full strip) and Ardell short individual flares

Hope you have enjoyed! Greer x

Amalia’s Wedding Day Makeup & Hair- InterContinental Double Bay

Sunday was spent glamourfying Amalia at the very lush InterContinental Double Bay, as Amalia was holding her Reception at their the Hotel upgraded her to the Presidential Suite and it was just breathtaking! I think we all felt like we were Hollywood Royalty! I always say I love the “getting ready” process and that probably why I thrive and am so passionate about creating a fun atmosphere whilst getting pampered and preened before the big moment!

Makeup and hair was kept quite neutral and soft as the Bride dosn’t wear makeup day to day. Amalia’s naturally curly hair was smoothed over and re-defined with the Babyliss Conical tong and Shine spray by AG.

Charlene’s Wedding Makeup & Hair, Lavender Lodge Bundanoon

Saturday was spent at the gorgeous Lavender Lodge in Bundanoon which is next to Bowral for Charlene’s wedding day

.makeup and hair bundanoon

Charlene had 4 Bridesmaids and her Mother by her side, and preparations were so much fun with old time loves songs playing in the background.

For Charlene’s Makeup and hair we opted for a bronzed glow and warm shadow to bring out her amazing green eyes. Ardell individual lashes were layered up from the outer corners to mid way along the lash line to thicken and make the eyes pop. I love these lashes as you are in total control of exactly where they are placed and are very comfortable to wear whilst still looking more natural than a full strip.I like to coat and separate the lashes lightly before applying the individual lashes, then if need be apply another coat after the adhesive sets- I used MAC Zoom mascara .

For Charlene’s lips I went back to my ol favourite Benefit lip and cheek stain in Posie tint. This colour enhances the natural pink in the lips and with each coat intensifies, I wanted this to look quite glossy so I used a Victoria Secret lip gloss in a soft pink tone. this glosses are great as they smell divine and are also flavored!! Charlene wore a stunning lace bustier dress from Karen Willis Holmes, which fitted her small frame amazingly and I have to say is now one of my favourite Bridal desginers!

And a little sneak peak of what the Bridesmaids vibe looked like-

We opted for the Brows and the lip to be the main focal point- and was a little fashion forward! The girls wore soft blue billowy dresses with lace around the bust-line, I couldn’t believe these were purchased from ASOS! Layers of Ardell lashes were applied in Medium and the lipstick is my MAC in “Hangup”. The flower crowns added a whimsical look and reminded me a little of the musical “The Sound of Music”.

Wedding Makeup & Hair, Sydney Polo Club

The last ever wedding to be held at Sydney Polo Club was for my gorgeous Bride Jasmine.

Originally from Portsmouth England, Jasmine and her Partner Andrew are now local residents of Clovelly. These are some of the beautiful photos captured on the day-

Makeup & Hair

First I used Bobbi Brown Skin brightening lotion to prep and prime the skin. I always apply eye makeup first to ensure a clean flawless finish to the base and under-eye area. After applying foundation and a little translucent powder to set, I applied Bobbi Brown long wear cream shadow stick in my favourite shade “Sand Dune”. Then to give a little extra warmth and glow to the lid i used Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in “Bronze”, I then had Jasmine open her eyes and contoured the crease in MAC pressed shadow in “Cork”.

A makeup is not complete without lashes and I just LOVE Modelrock Lashes #292 I always have these in my kit and are my total go-to. After the Duo lash adhesive dried I lined and flicked Tarte Clay liner until I got the dramatic pop of the eyes I was after.

Lipstick used was of course MAC in “Neon Orange” which just set Jasmines blue eyes off!

Clip-in hair extensions from Bondi Hair were used to add volume and bulk to Jasmines low side bun. I used the Babyliss Conical tong to create texture and wave throughout the style. A beautiful flower crown was then pinned gently into the style to create a whimsical effortless look.

Cute props were also used throughout the evening, which made for fun photos!

Jessie’s Wedding- Melross Farm Kangaroo Valley

Last Saturday I spent the day glamourfying Jessie and her bridal party at the gorgeous Melross Farm in the Kangaroo Valley.

Jessie wore a gorgeous beaded wedding dress with a sweet-heart neckline with soft straps that sat slightly off her shoulders

Makeup and hair

The bride opted for a fresh look with her makeup so I kept it quite light with her foundation as she has almost flawless Asian skin I wanted to show that off. Next I tailored Jessie’s Eyebrows to create a nice full frame, I used a new product which I love from Ardell in Medium brown, its a mix between a cream and a wax- which is great to control the hair in the direction you want.

On Jessie’s eyes i used a Bobbi Brown long wear cream shadow stick in “Sand dune” this is honestly one of my “go to’s” I know some people tend to steer clear of cream shadows as some can crease but this is fantastic and dosn’t budge. Sometimes I even use this as an undercoat for shimmers of pressed eyeshadows to add intensity.  Next i lined and flicked the eyes with  MAC fluid line and applied a full strip of Shu uemura false lashes. These lashes are fabulous especially for Asian eyes as they are slightly thicker and have a beautiful feathery look to them. Really did make an impact!

For Jessie’s hair as it was quite fine I cheated and used a Sharon Blain hair padding- these are fabulous as they are literally hair bundled up in a soft netting so they give a nice full look whilst being undetectable! As you can see I then gathered the hair to the side to create a soft chignon. A little shine spray from NAK and she was good to go!

Makeup and hair for the Bridesmaids was all a little different to bring out the girls personalities and style. Hair was chic and makeup was concentrated around the eyes in bronze/charcoal tones. I used the shimmer brick by Bobbi Brown and MAC pigment pots to create a soft dewy look.

Galia had flown in from Perth to attend a friends wedding at Doltone House in Pyrmont. She wanted a dark smokey eye with flicked liner and lots of lashes and for her hair something elegant and formal. And with that brief this is what I came up with!

Anselle’s Wedding Day Makeup & Hair, Novotel Woollongong

Posted on

A little bit of a throw back to March this year when I had the pleasure of making up this beauty and her sisters. I have been so busy with weddings I have neglected my blog a little!

I have to say i am a big fan of flower crowns i think they add an element of beauty and really give that whimsical bohemian look so many of my Brides are after,

Anselle’s dress was by “Grace Loves Lace” which is a little boutique bridal store in Miami on the Gold Coast. They make beautiful french lace dresses perfect for the modern vintage or bohemian bride and even better are hand- made here in Australia.  www.graceloveslace,

wedding makeup artist makeup and hair randwick clovelly bondi

To Style Anselle’s hair I first primed it with Styling Mousse by Paul Mitchell. I then brushed through with my favourite black paddle brush by “Wet Brush”. I then sectioned the hair starting from the nape of the neck and with my babyliss conical tong took quite large sections and wrapped the hair from the root to the tip around the tong. Always make sure to wrap the hair in the direction you would like the hair to fall- so around the hair line i always wind away from the face. Once cool i brushed and sprayed with Goldwell Style Fix hairsray.

Makeup I have used my all time favourite MAC Ruby Woo lipstick teamed with a flick of MAC fluidline gel  eyeliner and of course a cluster of falsies by Ardell in demi wispies.

Makeup & Hair, Hilton Hotel Sydney

Did up this beauty over the weekend for her 30th Birthday. Now you can find out how to get this look!

makeup and hair sydney asian makeup artistmakeup and hair coogee

First of all I primed the hair using Joico Body Luxe Design Foam on slightly damp hair and dried it through using a blow dryer. Once this was dry I then set the hair in large hot rollers – (Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium are fantastic). Don’t worry about being overly neat when placing these in- aim for winding the hair in the direction more that you want it to fall in.

Whilst the rollers are in and the hair is out of the way its time for makeup. To prep the skin I am loving Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base. I dont find it hydrating enough as a moisturiser alone, but is fantastic when used just before makeup application for a fresh hydrated look to the skin.

I always start with the eyes first- this way you get a nice overall finish to the foundation and will be less time consuming- especially for a dark smokey eye like this one.

I started by applying a little foundation to a latex free sponge and dabbing a little on each eye-lid and finished with a dust of loose powder. This will help maintain eye shadow stays all day and will prevent creasing and assist with a smooth application.

I follow a basic rule when applying eye shadow, start with your lightest colour medium then darkest. This way you will get a nice even blend and “transition” of colour rather than going straight into a dark brown eye shadow and then having to blend it for the next 10 mins!

Products I used to create eyes were- (from start to finish)

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in “Bronze”

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in “Golden Bronze”

MAC Satin eye shadow along Crease line in “Cork”

Bobbi Brown  eye shadow in socket “Rich Brown”

Tarte Clay paint eyeliner along lashline and flicked to finish

Enjoy, this look!

Sarah’s Wedding Day Makeup and Hair- Gunners Barracks Mosman

I had the pleasure of making up this beauty for her wedding day at Gunners Barracks in Mosman on the 3rd January 2015.  Sarah wore a stunning lace dress from Lover in a gorgeous lace fabric which fit her petite frame perfectly.

bridal makeup and hair wedding makeup and hair lace wedding dress sydney wedding

Makeup and Hair preparations commenced at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney which had stunning 360 degree views of the City and Harbour. Makeup and Hair was kept quite relaxed with lightly tonged waved which were then brushed through. A small section was then pinned and her fringe fell effortlessly around her face creating a chic relaxed look which suited her detailed dress. Makeup was also kept quite natural with a simple liner and warm tones to bring out Sarah’s gorgeous blue eyes.

Bridesmaids makeup and hair also followed a more natural effortless look, and blended perfectly with the soft peach strapless bustier dresses. The hair for this look was set in hot rollers then brushed through to create more of a wave. I then used the GHD around the hair line to straighten through and give it that “barely touched” look.
